€25,000 to the winner, 36 players on Final Day

Only The Barracudas €100,000 guaranteed for the first time in Mendrisio reaches its conclusion with the Final Day scheduled for today at 2 p.m. Day 2B has also ended with 8 players remaining, who will meet at the Final Day tables together with the 28 qualifiers from Day 2A.

At the start of Day 2B, there were 29 players, and level after level, players of the caliber of Claudio Swissy Rinaldi and Piero Valentini, who started as chip leader with over 1 million chips, were eliminated. Swissy was eliminated by the most classic of “coolers”: a pair of aces against his “kapponi.”

During Day 2B, Andrea D’Elia and Giuseppe Cricchio dominated the scene, imposing themselves on the other players and bagging 1,775,000 and 2,020,000 respectively. Salvatore Floridia achieved an incredible feat, registering for the tournament just minutes before the close of registration for the last flight and establishing himself as the chip leader of Day 2B with 2,415,000 chips.

The best of the 36 qualifiers for the Final Day remains Alessandro Toninello, who, after an incredible performance on Day 2A, comes in with 4,070,000 chips. The 36 remaining players are all “in the money” and will compete for the Barracudas trophy, as well as a first prize of €25,000. The mini-money for today’s Final Day will be €500.

Here is the overall payout and the Redraw for the Final Day, which starts at 2 p.m.
