Andrea Giordano, a young man with a passion for poker, is the one who managed to hit a royal flush at the Ultimate Texas Hold’em table for a win of over €120,000. On Monday, October 13, a group of friends decided to spend the evening at the casino playing in the €5,000 GTD Only Mendrisio tournament. Among them was Andrea, who initially wanted to stay home but after a while was persuaded to join his friends. Andrea registered for the tournament and was eliminated shortly after late registration closed, dashing his hopes of winning the second Only Mendrisio event. He then decided to play at the Ultimate Texas Hold’em table to pass the time while waiting for his friends to finish the tournament. After a few hands, he managed to make a poker hand, already cashing in a nice win as he was also playing “trips,” and shortly after 2:30 a.m., he hit a royal flush, winning the Progressive Jackpot of €126,405.83!
Andrea had received 9♦️ and 10♣️, while the dealer had 9♠️ and 5♣️, and the board read: J♣️ K♣️ Q♣️ A♣️ Q ♥️.
This is not the first time that a poker player has won a jackpot at the Admiral Casino in Mendrisio. In fact, a poker player who left the €100,000 GTD SCOP tournament held at the end of May 2024, an hour after the start of Day 2, while waiting to go to the opening Poker Cash Game table, went to the Ultimate Texas Hold’em table and after only 5 hands played won the Progressive Jackpot for a total amount of €90,480! In that case, the lucky player had received K♠️ and 9♠️, and the single-color board was: Q♠️ – 10♠️ – J♠️ – 2♠️ – A♠️.
Valeria Sinatra, who has also made poker her profession, has won the Progressive Jackpot twice at the Ultimate Texas Hold’em table!
