37 players join the 32 already qualified for the Final Day of The Night of the Aces held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 28. So we have reached the final chapter of a Main Event that has seen a lot of familiar faces and just as many players who have not trod the poker scene for several years but were pleased to sit in the Ticino Poker Room. To be exact, there were 539 players who animated the Admiral Poker Room during the two weeks of the event and generated a total prize pool of €269,500, which will be divided among the 69 players who qualified for the Final Day.
Leaving the tournament were the pink quotas that had shown up at Day2B, such as Ana Maria David and Bianca Baluta, runner-up of the first major tournament organized in Mendrisio. Vittorio Castro, Predrag Budakovic, Giovanni Salvatore and Mario Llapi, who showed up at the Final Day as the shortest of the qualifiers, also failed to make it to the envelopes.
Commanding the Final Day chipcount are Mario Perati, already Day2B chipleader, Giorgio Leuchi and Luca Stevanato, winner of the Platinum edition of La Notte degli Assi that was held in Mendrisio in May 2022. It is a noteworthy top3 not only for the players, but also for the stacks with which they show up to the Final Day, all above one million chips.
It resumes at 2 p.m. from level 6,000-12,000 and all players are already “in the money” with prizes ranging from a minimum of €1,500 to the €45,000 first coin.
