The second edition of Only The Barracudas is just around the corner, and the Mendrisio Casino is getting ready to host it in grand style with a new tournament designed for all poker lovers. The spirit is the same as in the first edition, and the Barracuda returns with the same goal as always: to be a tournament accessible to all players—amateurs, regulars, and professionals alike.
From November 19 to 29, Ticino’s most popular Main Event returns with a schedule featuring 6 Day 1s, 2 Day 2s, and a Final Day. Among the new features of this tournament, note that you can register for Day 1 throughout the entire flight (18 levels) or during the first three levels of Day 2 (up to the 21st level), and that different buy-ins are available depending on the day you wish to play:
Day 1A, Day 1B, and Day 1C (November 19–20–21) – buy-in 90+10€, stack 50,000, level 25′
Day 2A (November 22) – buy-in 280+20€, stack 200,000, level 40’
Day 1D, Day 1E, and Day 1F (November 25–27) – buy-in €130+20, stack 50,000, level 25’
Day 2B (November 28) – buy-in €380+20, stack 200,000, level 40’
The tournament kicks off on November 19 at 6:00 p.m. with Day 1A, followed by Day 1B and Day 1C on November 20 and 21, respectively. All players who qualified during the first week—having played with an entry fee of just €100—will return on November 22 for Day 2A, and registration will be open for the first three levels of the day at €280+€20. Similarly, the second week of the tournament follows the same format as the first, with three flights on November 25, 26, and 27—namely Day 1D, Day 1E, and Day 1F—all starting at 6:00 p.m. with a buy-in of 130+20€. Those who make the cut will advance to Day 2B on November 28 at 4:00 p.m., and registration will again be open for the first three levels of the day at €380+20—this will be the last chance to enter the tournament. All players who qualify for the Final Day, following the completion of the 13 levels on Days 2, will receive a prize, with a minimum payout of €500.
The starting stack for players registering on Day 1 is 50,000 chips, with 25-minute levels, while the stack for players registering on Day 2A or Day 2B is 200,000 chips for 40-minute levels, as is the case on the Final Day. Late registration is open until the 21st level of the tournament, which is the third level of play on each Day 2.
Please note that anyone who has won a ticket in the “Only Mendrisio” tournaments may use it exclusively for Day 1A on November 19, Day 1B on November 20, or Day 1C on November 21. Registration for the tournament is available exclusively at the Admiral Poker Room cashier’s desk on the day of the tournament. The dedicated cashier’s desk will open two hours before the start.
Who will be the new Barracuda to take Alessandro Toninello’s place?
“It’s important to note that the barracuda is a predatory fish, dangerous even to humans—especially to divers—as it attacks anything that moves.”
